SPIRIT NOTES
The neat nose suggested strawberry laces with hints of lavender and vanilla pannacotta. Beyond that we also noted rosemary flowers, cinnamon buns and marzipan. Lots of lovely pastry and bakery vibes were mentioned. With water it developed some subtle leathery notes, with intriguing aromas of a blue raspberry slushie drink, buttered raisin and rye bread, and chocolate orange. The palate was immediately vivid and rich with flavours of strawberry laces, cola cubes, maple syrup and old balsamic vinegar. A splash of water evolved it beautifully with sweeter notes of espresso with soft brown sugar, jam tarts, custard made with sauternes, and almond paste. At 10 years of age, we combined selected casks from the same distillery. We then returned the single malt into a variety of different casks to develop further. This is one of those casks.
