SPIRIT NOTES

A typically intriguing nose that usually characterises this unusual spirit. Bath salts laced with cleaning chemicals, tiger balm and aloe vera were all noted. As were stroopwafels, pink wafer biscuits and eclair cream! Some water brought out sharp crab apples, dried citrus rinds and touches of juniper and crushed ivy. The mouth initially showed dried heather flowers, sandalwood, cask aged mead and the warmth of white pepper. With water we found it became slightly funkier and revealed things like gooseberry acidity, oatcakes with butter, flower honey, dried mango and youthful calvados distillate.
