SPIRIT NOTES

Green grassy notes emerged alongside the dry floral character of potpourri and talcum powder in a hessian sack before white chocolate-coated sponge cake was topped with icing sugar. On the tongue a burst of ginger and white peppercorns tingled beside honeycomb, toffee and vanilla ice cream. A hint of bergamot and tree bark then moved us towards bitter coffee shortly before we added water. Now almond flakes and vanilla suggested bakewell tarts, while the strong fragrance of lavender and tinned peaches joined the lush foliage in a pine forest. The palate now embraced strong earl grey tea, with lemon pith and vanilla cake to finish.
