SPIRIT NOTES
The nose was fresh and summery, with sun-warmed oak, runny honey and herb gardens, candy floss, Turkish delight and marshmallow strawberries. The palate was a delightful sweet and sour experience of creamy toffee, honey and jelly bean sweetness, rhubarb rock, pineapple and mango stone fruitiness and a complex after-taste of espresso, bitter lemon and pencil chewing. On the reduced nose we found syrupy lemon cake and lime curd, hot buttered crumpets, flower meadows, lemon balm and spearmint. The palate now combined barley sugars, jelly babies, brown sugar and lemon cheesecake with a teasing finish of tannic oak, liquorice, walnuts and mace.
