An Utterance Of Aloha

The aroma revived memories, glorious memories of days gone by. One panellist tucked into a toast Hawaii - basically an ‘upmarket’ version of cheese on toast - an open sandwich consisting of a slice of toast, ham and pineapple with cheese on top, broiled so that the cheese melts, and not to forget the maraschino cherry in the middle of the pineapple ring! Mouth- coating like a simple crème anglaise or a sponge cake with layers of jam and fresh cream. Following reduction, we received a lei greeting of a fresh, fragrant, sweet scented floral garland, as is tradition in Hawaii as a symbol for hospitality – an utterance of aloha.
